What is the difference between miui and cm7

Being heavily focused on the UI and graphics, the performance is exceptionally good as well with the ROM being almost bug free and very smooth and slick in operation on the officialy supported phones. Constant upgrades on a weekly basis are continually evolving the ROM to be better and more better. The latest version as we write this post right now, is the MIUI 1.

If you had never come across MIUI before, the user interface will look very vivid and very different in contrast to any other ROM you may be familiar with.

All apps have icons that are displayed on the main screen, pretty much like apps in the iOS, where you scroll around the screens where the icons are placed. How many screens can the ROM support you ask? Widgets however, behave as they would on any other launcher if you remove them. Keep the screen pressed and you will enter the Edit mode with access to widgets that can be scrolled left or right in the bottom row and the screens as well so you can comfortably place the widget on whichever screen you wish.

While the Notification menu may not be much different to any other ROMs the toggles panel most certainly is. Unlike CM7 where the toggles are found in the notification panel at the top, MIUI has the option of a dedicated page for the toggles you can say. However, by default the toggles come scrollable listed at the bottom of the notification panel.

You can add or remove the toggles you want to be listed in the panel. To us, nothing comes close, we repeat nothing! You have customizable lockscreens, status bars, icons, homescreens, fonts, dialer style, text style, boot animations and so much more! As mentioned earlier, the themes can either be applied as a whole, or the best parts can be chosen from multiple themes to create your very own theme.

Simple run Themes on your device and hit the Edit Theme button to bring up the customization menu. For look into what the theming engine has to offer you should see our post on 10 awesome MIUI themes for Android. The payer even went around as a stand alone app as well, such is its popularity.

The player settings do not disappoint at all with options such as Shake to skip , Display Lyrics , a nifty looking Spectrogram. One of the most useful option is the ability to filter out audio files of a minimum size, thereby removing the chances of hearing one your ringtones out of the blues. I wanna know why everyone chooses each one..

I've flashed all and am just curious to why everyone else chooses the roms they do.. I run miui. To me cyanogen lacks full customization. And has no benefitial features over miui. I get same battery life and phone runs smoothly at 1ghz as it would on any other rom.

ONLY issue is random reboots. Which is a theme issue not a rom issue.. And I don't care for sense roms.. Sent from my G2.

I'm still getting used to it but overall I like it. I love the UI. It looks clean and it's quick. Stock post ota deodexed Anything higher than that affects my battery and I don't see any obvious benefit as I don't play any games that need a higher CPU. I use CM6.

I use my phone heavily for A2DP bluetooth streaming and apperantly cyanogenmod is pretty much the best rom for bluetooth audio quality, also the added equalizer feature is awesome. Its just like the stock rom whish I loved since my nexus days but with just the right amount of customization. When you install an app, sometimes it comes with an odex file i believe it's an extension of some sort to the app When you are de-odex'd, it merges the extension dot odex file with the apk.

The only reason I wanted this rom was to use themes for stock roms. I also found that it boots the phone up a hell of a lot faster. Highly recommended for people who want the stock feel but like small mods here and there. That's not a rom Few options and not easy to use in the least.

Sense - I use LauncherPro, but I prefer the sense contacts and other features. I installed the 3D gallery from stock, so I have access to both. One other small benefit of the otherwise useless Sense gallery is a scrollable 'share' pop-up. On stock ROMs or CM , if you have too many options in this menu, you can't scroll so you can't access them. Sense lets you scroll the 'share' list. Not everything about miui is iphonish I turn those to the standard grid.

Not all are uniformed "squares" all thou the theme is use they are. But I actually am I fan of uniformed icons. I think it looks cleaner.. What about miui looks annoying?? I admit the original launcher is lame. But I don't use it.. I think docks and notification bars are lame. I don't use either and rock adw.. Overall nice rom, very quick, I'm sure I'll like it, after I get some things figured out.

I never realized how much was sense on sense roms. Cyanogen is missing all those really handy widgets like email, people, and messaging. I'm slowly finding somewhat comparable widgets, but nothing solid yet. What do you guys use for those basic widgets? Is there maybe a theme or something that has those, or should i keep looking on the market? I too gave CM7 a run but the biggest issue was that I could not get the auto backlight settings to duplicate the Sense rom's, and although minor to some people, this is a big deal with me.

Extended flat ions with shadow effect. New Weather M8 app 5. Download accelerator supports Torrent 6. All chinese applications removed. For me, Everything is working. I'm using this ROM currently for my daily usage. Install TWRP 3. Enjoy the new ROM! Install the app. Battery life really sucks compared to CM7. I had the same problem with my LG Optimus 2X. Why is MIUI eating battery? Nov 30, 8 I totally agree! Sep 30, 27 ZeD Members.

Nov 18, 88 I know that Hund is using a sgs2 and I have heard that plenty of users have issues with theme manager with miui.

Theme manager doesn't allow the phone to go into sleepmode as it should.
